Children at Risk School
Bilingual – Portuguese / English
A course designed for those who want to become advocates for children and work to see lasting changes in their lives. The focus is on children who have been put at risk because of factors such as illness, poverty, exploitation, abandonment, disability and other forms of injustice. Students are given an overview of the needs of these children, as well as an insight into child development. Emphasis is placed on intervention and advocacy work.
During this course, you will be challenged to plan a project to reach children at risk. There are 12 weeks of classes with experienced teachers, who work with both social action and counseling. The training then offers a further 12 weeks of internship in our projects, so that the student can be accompanied and guided while getting practical experience.

This course is registered at the University of the Nations with 24 credits and is bilingual in Portuguese and English.
This course is offered in April of every year.

Requirements
- Be involved with projects aimed at children at risk;
