YWAM Recife

YWAM Recife, Brazil, was birthed in 1986. Five years later, Mati and Julie Gali together with Bob and Magda Emberley and some others, began to develop the YWAM ministry, Projeto Pequeninos (Project Little Ones) which reached out to the little children on the streets of Recife.
God blessed the ministry and provided a small farm for a base in the nearby town of Camaragibe which later became the YWAM base.
Today Mati and Julie Gali are the leaders of the YWAM Recife base which has a focus on children at risk.
Over the years, missionaries from various nations and from within Brazil have responded to God’s call to help these lost children. This has resulted in the restoration of hundreds of young lives some of whom are now missionaries in Brazil and other countries.

Mati, born and raised in Samoa, South Pacific joined YWAM in 1988. Julie was born in Canada and did her DTS in Tyler, Texas, in 1985, before coming to Brazil in 1991.
They met and married in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, while working at the Restoration House with YWAM. They have three children; Jordan, Cory and Sarah.
Mati and Julie also travel and minister in China, Haiti, India, England and the South Pacific. Their ministry at home and abroad touches the nations.
